The Humantay Lagoon is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Peru. It is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Cusco. Its turquoise waters crowned by the imposing snow-capped Salkantay give it a unique beauty. Since the time of the Incas this lagoon was adored by the Andean settlers. It is the third most popular tourist attraction in Cusco, after Machu Picchu and the 7 Color Mountain.
ITINERARY
4:30AM- 5:00AM hrs Pick up from your hotel in our private van.
7:00AM breakfast in our restaurant at the beginning of the trail.
Soraypampa: our guide will give us enough time to prepare our equipment such as walking sticks, water, personal backpacks, etc.
We will begin with our walk to the Humantay lagoon at a height of 4,250 meters above sea level. Our ascent lasts approximately an hour and a half until we reach Humantay lagoon.
Once we arrive at the lagoon, we will be able to walk and explore the area and take spectacular photos of the Humantay mountain next to the turquoise lagoon.
The walk back takes around 1 hour.
Lunch will be served in our restaurant, after lunch, we take our van back to Cusco.
The tour will end in Cusco around 18:30 at Plaza San Francisco.
DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE HUMANTAY LAGOON TREK.
We will pick you up from your different hotels between 04:30am, and then continue with our trip until we reach the town of Mollepata, where we will enjoy a typical breakfast of the area.
After breakfast, we will return to our bus to continue the incredible tour to the Humantay lagoon and thus be able to observe the beautiful landscapes and ravines on the way to Soraypampa, where our walk will begin.
Soraypampa: our guide will give us enough time to prepare our equipment such as walking sticks, water, personal backpacks, etc.
We will begin with our walk to the Humantay lagoon at a height of 4,250 meters above sea level. Our ascent lasts approximately an hour and a half until we reach Humantay lagoon.
Upon arriving at this beautiful lagoon, you will have all the time necessary to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it, take photographs, videos and also recharge with the energy that the Nevado Salkantay has.
After all this beautiful adventure, we will return to where our bus left us in Soraypampa.
We will continue the trip and go to Mollepata where we will enjoy our lunch and after that we will return to Cusco, arriving in the city at approximately 18:30.
